Glass+Metal Craft designed and delivered two featured canopies for new ultra-modern balconies at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and Office Complex in downtown Grand Rapids.
Glazier Glass Design selected G+MC for the project, which adds second story canopies on either side of the main entrance of the venue. G+MC’s Fulcrum Architectural Design Assist Division designed the canopies based on its portfolio of IMBER Type II Pre-Engineered Glass Canopies, saving time and cost versus a “clean sheet” design. We then fabricated the laminated glass with a lined, meandering opaque frit, with our Cuda Metals Division delivering the support hardware, consisting of stainless attachments to the canopy superstructure connecting to pucks holding the glass in place.
As with all our architectural systems, the canopies we’re delivered with stamped drawings, in kits to flow installation.
