Glazier: Central Missouri Glass

The exterior glass facades Glass+Metal Craft fabricated for the Fulton State Hospital in Fulton, Missouri is an excellent example of teamwork.

The Architect’s design called for high performance heavy coated glass. Glazier Central Missouri Glass choose G+MC to deliver on this intent, and we drew on our portfolio of MURUS Pre-Engineered Glass Structural Walls to both speed and lower the overall cost of the final design.

We selected Guardian’s SunGuard SNX62/27 on half inch thick glass for its main entrance façade, and became the first fabricator to temper this coated product. Guardian teamed up with G+MC to conduct thorough testing prior to fabrication, and the result was a new procedure and standards for this glass.

Additionally, the heavy coated glass was to be installed as a point-supported wall system, requiring insulated hole spacers and extensive heat soak testing. G+MC took on the challenge with invaluable assistance from Sadev USA.
