The Wharf is a world-class, mixed-use waterfront community in the District of Columbia’s Southwest Waterfront. This exciting new urban waterfront project combines residential, office, hotel, retail, cultural, marina, and public uses including waterfront parks, promenades, piers, and docks.
SmithGroup, the lead architectural firm in charge of the project, and Service Glass Industries, a premier glazier contractor, retained Glass + Metal Craft to deliver two key architectural systems. The first: a multi-story, coated, laminated glass structural wall, complete with custom hardware, based on G+MC’s MURUS Pre-Engineered Glass Structural Wall systems. MURUS saves time and cost that can be allocated to other project deliverables.
G+MC also designed and delivered a glass and metal canopy.
To deliver the systems, Glass + Metal Craft’s project managers seamlessly integrated G+MC Fulcrum Division engineers, Glass + Mirror Craft Division fabricators, and G+MC Cuda Metals Division craftsmen. Both systems with delivered with stamped engineering drawings and in kits to flow installation.
