Glazier: MTH Industries
The architect’s intent for the entrance at 125 South Wacker in downtown Chicago was to combine a simple push door entrance side-by-side with a revolver. Glazier MTH Industries selected Glass+Metal Craft as we were able to quickly design and fabricate a hybrid of our Type I OSTIUM™ Pre-Engineered Glass Entrance System – saving time and cost versus a clean slate design.
The simple glass box was custom fit to the curve of the revolver using our oversized CNC lathe, and then connected to the revolver with hardware delivered in-house by our Cuda Metals Division. Our Fulcrum Architectural Design Assist Division engineered the connection between the two entrances, providing the general contractor with stamped drawings.
Monolithic, laminated UltraClear© glass from Guardian, a strategic partner to G+MC, was used throughout. The result is a minimalistic, open, engaging entrance that allows maximum light into the interior space.
