Glazier: Mid-States Glass and Metal, Inc.
When glazier Mid-States Glass and Metal, Inc., of Niles, IL selected Glass+Metal Craft to design and fabricate a new vestibule for 625 West Michigan Ave. in Downtown Chicago, they also asked us to solve the challenging interface between the vestibule and revolvers on either side.
We responded with a hybrid design of our Type II OSTIUM Pre-Engineered Glass Vestibule and Entrance Systems to fit this complex application. We began by designing and fabricating the custom metal and glass support structures to make the interface secure, then provided a finishing touch to the entrance with stainless portals on the exterior – in total meeting the architect’s intent for the space.
G+MC’s Fulcrum Architectural Design Assist Division was instrumental in teaming with revolver manufacturer BoonEdam on the interface, who later complimented G+MC on their engineering effort and project management support.
