The glass and metal vestibule in the Detroit News Building in the city’s downtown is another example of a Glass+Metal Craft OSTIUM™ Type II Pre-Engineered Hybrid Glass Entrance System.
The vestibule features Guardian monolithic glass supported by custom supporting hardware delivered in house by our Cuda Metals Division. Our Fulcrum Architectural Design Assist Division modified our standard Type II design to meet the architect’s intent, providing stamped drawings.
G+MC offers three levels of OSTIUM Entrance Systems, from a minimalist glass box (Type I) to a robust stainless cage system encased in glass (Type III). All are available off the shelf as is, which can provide substantial cost savings, or engineered as hybrid designs to meet a specific vision – saving time and cost over original designs.
