Something to think about as we (thankfully) begin a new year. Either your glass fabricator is aware of the total cost of ownership of a project. Or you’re working with the wrong fabricator.
At Glass + Metal Craft, we’ve been on top of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for decades, continuously improving our approach.
We began by institutionalizing a process that mitigates the risk of complex architectural systems, delivering them on time and cost effectively. Soon after, we chose to source only U.S. based glass. Then to fabricate that glass and any custom metal hardware under one roof. All total, we’re now able to control our deliverables.
Moreover, invested in design and engineering teams to handle the more complex projects. Soon after, we launched a dedicated logistics team. Both initiatives focused on minimizing hand-offs, errors, and delays, further reducing total cost.
Recently we took another step forward on cost reduction by launching our Fulcrum Architectural Design Assist Division, to review product specifications with our customer. In this way we have a full understanding by all parties at the onset of a project. Given that, we then assign a dedicated manager that follows a detailed project timeline to get it through the factory and into the field without conflict.
Next year – and this is particularly exciting – we’ll further reduce TCO by expanding our library of pre-engineered architectural systems. These will save time and cost by allowing the architect to specify a proven, scalable, modular solution off the shelf. They’ll be able to quickly zero-in on design intent (or easily customize the design to do so). Moreover, they’ll make installation simpler and faster for the general contractor and glazier.
Bottom line, total cost of ownership is – and always will be – front of mind. Make it your business’ New Year’s resolution, and then let us show you how.
