There’s proof to the popular saying that “you only get one chance to make a first impression.” Research shows that within the first seven seconds a person makes several judgments about who you are and if they can trust you.
So when your business is installing glass on major commercial projects – and you happen to be building a new headquarters for your company – it’s safe to say you’re going to be extremely focused on how flat the glass looks on your new building to the GC or architect pulling into the parking lot.
Forman Glass in Galesburg, Michigan is a highly respected glazier building such an HQ, and with the connections they have throughout the industry, could have gone anywhere for the exterior IGs and several interior glass architectural systems.
They came to Glass+Metal Craft. And really, there’s no higher compliment that I can think of, and we are grateful!
Our relationship goes way back, and over the years we’ve designed and fabricated dozens of glass facades and architectural systems that they and their sister company, O’Neil’s Glass in Fort Wayne, Indiana, have successfully installed.
For the exterior of the new building we delivered over 1,600 square feet of one-inch insulated units using Guardian’s excellent SN54 on CrystalGrey over Clear. Inside, we fabricated seven slider doors and two swing doors with fritted patterns, plus sidelights, all in Guardian ½-inch Clear Glass.
And even as they trusted us with their own building, they also selected us for a showcase glass stair project at the Kalamazoo College Natatorium. Overall, exciting stuff, and we’ll talk more about the stairs, here, in the weeks ahead.
Flat, defect free glass is the key to everything from stunning facades to swing doors is. Deliver that – as we do – and people take notice. Don’t deliver that, and people take notice of that, too. You get one chance at a first impression.
It’s well worth considering when choosing your next glass fabricator.
