If you’ve ever visited a high-end sports car dealership – for Ferrari or Porsche and the like – it leads me to surmise two probable facts. One, that you are doing very well. And, two, that details really matter to you!
Just like the cars on exhibit, these highest-end dealerships are fabulous, with attention to detail unseen in just about any other retail venue. That also makes them among the most challenging of all installations.
Recently, we were selected by glazier Calvin Co. to design and fabricate several glass architectural systems for a new Porsche dealership in Okemos, Michigan.
Deliverables included several engineered glass structural walls, with external walls supported by glass fins set in custom hardware, and internal structural walls set in custom stainless molding. We also fabricated main and office glass entrances, featuring stainless handles, supports, and operational hardware. There were dozens of oversize windows, and more. Everything to exacting specifications.
And then the ULTIMATE in details: sleek, engineered gray glass and stainless elements for the venue’s restrooms! Beautifully crafted door handles, locks, hinges, handrails, floor mounted and top-of-glass supports, hook fittings, and other stainless hardware – details that, for the most part, are and always will be pretty much out-of-sight out-of-mind.
While other fabricators may baulk or even walk from these demanding specs, G+MC was able to tap its ORNATUS™ family of decorative glass designs and fixtures to execute the architect’s intent quickly, stunningly, and within the established budget. And, that, more than the rest, is the story I want to tell.
Here at G+MC we embrace the details! Drawing on our Fulcrum Architectural Design Assist Division to set the industry bar on how best to deliver them. Even the ultimate details!
That’s who we are. And it’s something we hope you keep in mind.
